These people have been harassing me at work daily despite my telling them not to call me at work. They called four times this morning alone! On top of that I’ve already proven to them over and over again that there is no debt to collect! I talked with a lawyer today who told me they have a history of bad collection practices, have had multiple judgements entered against them, and they refuse to pay when found guilty of breaking the law. Makes you wonder who would hire a company that doesn’t pay there own judgements to collect from other people, knowing the practices are questionable. Just Google them to see all the complaints of threats and harassment from hundreds of people. They call themselves agents and tell you they will send the police to your job and have you arrested, I’ve been called a deadbeat, a loser, etc… by their employees. All this AFTER I proved the debt was not valid. I’ve since filed a complaint with the BBB, Attorney General, and FTC.

These people have been harrassing my husband at working calling up to 10 times a day finally we spoke to an attorney who advised us to tell them they were no longer allowed to contact his place of employment them agent hillyard said that she need to veryified his income and i called back and told her she was in no way allowed to get any information from my husbands company about him. Our lawyer also told us that they cant threaten us with check fraud when there had been no fraud and that they couldnt have him arrested and not to worry they would have to take us to small claims court as a bad debt if we had such a debt. Shame on you we are in the process of filing a lawsuit of harassment againist Rosenthal and Stein and Our lawyer are doing it with no money up front Sincerely C L Winchester Va

I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME. THE WOMEN THAT i SPOKE TO WAS FAST TALKING AND THREATING ME WITH POLICE AND JAIL FOR CHECK FRAUD. i HAD NO IDEA WHAT COMPANY SHE WAS SPEAKING ABOUT AND SHE DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION. I HAD ASLO NOT RECEIVED ANY LETTERS FROM THEM. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW FOR THEM TO THREATEN YOU WITH JAIL, EVEN ON A DEFAULTED PDL .

Don’t let this garbage collection company scare you. I have been threated by them for over a year that the next day I was going to be arrested. Obviously, I haven’t. By law, the collection agency is required to provide you (at your request) a letter stating the current debt and the previous owner of the debt (if different). This is the first sign to a bogus collection company when they inform you that they DON”T have to.

I have the same issue as everyone above. I’ve been harrassed at work, I wanted to see if they would workout a “payment plan” just to see how far they would go (even though i know i dont owe anything) and they said NO, I must pay half of the debt or otherwise my file will be sent to court. To this day I honestly do not know of any other “collection agency” not wanting to work a payment plan. It was ALL or nothing since they are hoping you will not find out about the scam until after you have made a huge payment…

They’ve called me stating that If I could not pay a large amount on a debt, they would file a letter with thr courts to garnish my wages through my employer. Is that LEGAL??

    21. Oct, 2011

They get paid a commission for the full amount. Thats why it’s all or nothing. They have to send you a certified letter first before court happens. Or some kind of paper trail. You never know who is calling you. If they spent the same amount of effort calling you to pick you up, it would have been done already.

They also have an ” F” BBB rating.

We just got off the phone with them. They had called my fiancee and told her she owed them $1000 for a $280 payday loan she had received and she could settle today for $500. They did the same “check Fraud”, jail time, yada yada to her as well. So i got on the phone with the lady who was very threatening and fast talking. So in a calm manner i simply asked her to send me the record of the debt and the amount owed. she told me she cant do that and if i wanted to see it i could see it in court.

In continuation… I pressed the wrong button and was cut short. I asked the lady if they would take $400 for the amount due. She put me on hold and sent/received the fastest e-mail i have ever witnessed saying they would settle for $425.25. That just pissed me off. So i told her i need to make some calls about getting the money. She said ok and put “an administrative hold” on her account. When we hung up i did just that. But i told my fiancee to find were she had gotten her loan from and contact them. to see if she can still settle the debt with them. So she did and we just paid the original $280 that was owed. so these people can go F them selves. I tried to be calm and even tried to settle with them. Me personal i don’t scare easy and I don’t let anyone talk to my family that way.

So just food for thought if you have/are getting called from these people. and are will/able to settle the debt. Try calling the people who you originally owed money to. You might still be able to deal with them. and save your self a lot of calls and heart ache. Her debt was over a year old and we were able to still settle with the original company.

First of all you can not be arrested for personal debt in this country unless u do not pay your child support or taxes! Second these idiots collect mostly pay day loans and if that is what u think u might owe then rest assured u are not going to jail. The law says you can not be arrested for failing to pay a pay day loan..It’s in the contract when u sign it. The most they can do is take you to civil court and try to get a judgement. Their scare tactics are highly illegal so record all their harassment and threats and get others on the phone to hear then go file suit against them!!! They have been sued already many times over!!

I just got a call from these people too threatening “something bad will happen” but they wouldn’t say what. The lady who called was rude, disrespectful, fast talking, and refused to listen to anything I had to say. Then, when I tried to tell her that I was trying to pay my debt and asked them to work with me, she told me I was yelling and being childish and if I couldn’t pay over $900 today then there was nothing she could do to help me. After reading all of the above, I’m a little. Ore at ease with what they are trying to do and can see its a scare tactic. I’ll keep paying my debt, on my own without the so called help these people claim to offer

I too am a victim of this digusting agency. An agent with a southern accent called me AT WORK and after I told her not to call me at my place of employment she then called back and left a voice mail message on my boss’s phone! She wanted a fax number to fax documents to the office to garnish my wages.

Stupid bitch. I called her back from my cell phone and blasted her. I told her that I am not stupid and the only entity that can garnish wages in the state of Pennsylvania is the GOVERNMENT – IRS and child support. THAT’S IT.

I also told her that if she ever dares to call me again I will press criminal charges against HER and the agency and then file a lawsuit with my attorney.

She has not called back since.

How do we report these people? They have been calling my 9 year old son’s cell phone and I have told them numerous times to take his number off their list. I told them again today and their rep said, “I don’t need a lecture ma’m, just say wrong number!” and hung up on me. I wasn’t giving a lecture and in fact, I was asking nicely. I called the number back requesting to speak to a manager and the operator proceeded to tell me she couldn’t forward my call to a manager because they were all busy. I explained what happened and she said that I was being foolish and that no one was going to entertain my call. REALLY? No one can see that a 9 year old should not receive collection calls?

We have delt with this shit before last year we have police reports after police reports cuz at one point they threatened harm to my lil baby as well as my family. We had gotten so scared we didnt know what to do. if anyone has any other information that could help us please let me know. This is 100 percent illglal for them to do this. Im not 100% worried about this cuz i know by law only the IRS and Child support can be taken out of your checks not something like this but his company can be dumb founded at time. any help is appreciated.

Try calling Sharisse Williams president of the company at 770-446-9647. Her address is 1201 Rutherford Glen Circle, Atlanta, GA 30340.

Her assistant might also be able to help you.
    Athena Harris

Maybe if they got a taste of their own medicine. Their practices are illegal. Call the Federal Trade commission. maybe if we all banded together and brought a class action law suit against them, they might change their ways.
